Nice to see something local. I've been a New York boy all my life. By my second marijuana toke over 46 years ago, about 5 years before the Woodstock Festival, in that part of my conciousness where I claim I know, I knew that the marijuana madness (circa 1936) perception our society via its government and mad media had conveyed was at the very least a despicable and heinous violation of my innocence to know the truth. More than any rationale for or against, it was realizing that fear had been used to "inform" me. I vowed never again to trust pronouncements of government, media, "experts", Fox News, Reptublicans etc. without thorough factually supported research on any issue I felt important enough to KNOW about. One learns that there is always more than one side to the story. It's our magnificent democracy that gives us the choice. I have always chosen to LEGALIZE marijuana. Contact (Google it! telephone, email, snail mail) your local, state and federal government officials to remind them of your support to legalize marijuana. The empirical evidence i.e. hundreds of millions of people-hours of marijuana use (U.S. alone AND that's for street shit!) well over the past 70 years is the proof positive which debunks EVERY myth, falsehood and lie about marijuana. Billions of dollars are spent administering prescription drugs (many known to be addictive - marijuana certainly is NOT!). A consciousness altering compound you recognize a need for responsbile regulation (age, venue, rights of others etc.); your thoughts here: ___________________________________ ...; and finally impress upon them your committed pride to spread the good news. good links: Google! 1) marijuana 2) marijuana madness Informative URL's I like: http://www.cannabisconsumers.org/ (Re. I am both a head-on car collision survivor and a victim of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I understand the difference between marijuana use and marijuana abuse. Responsible marijuana usage, and prescribed medications like Lyrica, give me relief from the pain which I endure each day. Responsible marijuana usage also helps me to remain sane in an increasingly insane world. I greatly admire your crusade to help with marijuana legalization in New York state! Keep up the excellent work, and never surrender!

Having been a medical patient in California, I have witnessed firsthand that people are being helped in other states by the innocuous marijuana plant. It pains me to see so many people suffer and spend time in jail here in NY over a plant that is well-established as safe and beneficial. Improving the quality of life of an ailing or dying fellow citizen should be a no-brainer. . . you never know when you might be next.
